the very real downside to freecycle

i love the concept of freecycle, which is similar to the craigslist free section. lots of items that would have gone to the trash have instead gone to someone's home. but perhaps because of a timelag or people signing up for digests, or - this is my blog afterall - people just being morons and not reading, i will get emails and emails and emails for my item way after i've posted that it's been taken. i'm sure i will get random emails 1 and 2 weeks from now asking for it. just. go. away.

my, how things change

when i was last in a band, about 6 years ago, we were still printing flyers out and leaving them around. myspace was it, it's where we accumulated fans and did all our marketing. now, we never make flyers and facebook is it. every show gets a facebook event page although myspace is still the source for hearing a band's songs. interesting, that's all.

calling out greens plus

i heard about these bars from my yoga teacher several years ago. i promptly tried them since i trust her opinion in just about anything. they were delicious and good for you, much unlike power bars. the three nutritional facts i clearly remember are fat: 5g, carbs: 20g or less, sugar: 10g or less. pretty healthy snack, no?

so i've continued eating them ever since. i happened to glance at the nutritional info the other day and was pretty shocked to see: fat: 8g, carbs: 32g, sugars: 23g. not nearly as healthy as before. they look the same and taste the same, so what happened. i emailed them over a week ago about this, and they never responded. i'm pretty bummed about it. no such thing as consumer transparency, huh?

it's never not weird seeing little kids gyrating
