calling out greens plus
i heard about these bars from my yoga teacher several years ago. i promptly tried them since i trust her opinion in just about anything. they were delicious and good for you, much unlike power bars. the three nutritional facts i clearly remember are fat: 5g, carbs: 20g or less, sugar: 10g or less. pretty healthy snack, no?
so i've continued eating them ever since. i happened to glance at the nutritional info the other day and was pretty shocked to see: fat: 8g, carbs: 32g, sugars: 23g. not nearly as healthy as before. they look the same and taste the same, so what happened. i emailed them over a week ago about this, and they never responded. i'm pretty bummed about it. no such thing as consumer transparency, huh?

Hello, I am sorry that you didn't receive an e-mail back for the e-mail that you sent us and am not sure why as our customer service staff is usually very meticulous about responding to any questions that customers have regarding our products. It is possible that the e-mail ended up in our spam catcher. The Greens+ Energy Bars are high in carbohydrates because that is how one gets increased energy in the body-through carbs. as fuel. The carbs are low glycemic and slow burning. The sugar content is in no way from table sugar. It is derived from whole food sources and are complex chain sugars that are safe for diabetics and people with blood sugar issues. The amount of fiber and protein in the bar makes the Energy Bar as a whole a low glycemic bar. If what you are looking for is a bar specifically as a meal replacement and/or to help you lose weight, we do have 8 other bars to choose from. I would be happy to send you a sample of any that you would like to try. Just send me an e-mail to diane@greensplus.com with what kinds you would like to try. Please also e-mail me directly if you have any questions and I will get back to you as soon as possible. Thanks!
