blood-boiling drivel

this is taken off a real estate board, where this one guy thinks low VOC paint is bullshit.

"And as far as low-VOC paints -- give me a break. Unless you're living the purest of lives like a monk in Tibet, eating absolutely NO chemicals (high fructose corn syrup, hydrogenated oils, artificial colors, flavors, sweeteners, totally hormone- and antibiotic-free meat and dairy) and you walk the streets of NYC with a gas mask, whatever fumes given off by regular "toxic" paint (which are nearly 100% dissipated within a week anyway) would make absolutely NO health difference whatsoever."

it's hard for me to grasp that people are still so uninformed and ignorant. can't say anything else.

cultish gym members

so i'm two days into my trial crunch membership and so far, so good. i'd have to say out of any gym i've been to, the clientele is the fittest here although that could also be because the demographic skews slightly younger. i've taken two classes so far, and i've come to recognize the obsessive class takers. they're the ones who were hooting and hollering in yesterday's spin class (i could picture them hanging out the roof of a douchey stretch limo doing the same). then there are the ones who really love themselves. today there was one girl standing a foot away from the mirror the entire class, STARING at herself. maybe i'm wrong and that is what she has to do to get through the class, but i swear i saw her giving herself a few drew barrymore-esque cheesy, exaggerated winks. yuck.

i may also have nightmares in which WEEERRRRRK and FAAAAAASTER are yelled at me.
