i did it for science

or shits and giggles. or $75. i signed up to be an extra for a head automatica video this weekend. i sent my photos in on a whim, and got a callback. it was 6.5 hours of excruciating waiting, and 1 hour of action. the action part was fun. we had to go from 0-60 in 2 seconds flat. watch for my hand, it may have made the final cut. the concept itself was pretty boring; the typical band plays, girls scream and reach toward the stage. it seems like the label is trying to re-push "beating heart baby." i wouldn't be surprised if it got lots of airtime on fuse. also the band is totally re-positioning its image to be the new killers/bravery. i'm not a big fan, but they sure look different from their first video. they were dressed very white stripes: red, white and black, and eye liner and perfectly coiffed hipster hair were in abundance. anyway, i drifted off to sleep with the chorus repeating over and over in my head.

this weekend i experimented with actually doing shit during the day. i packed a lot in both friday and saturday, and therefore had to sacrifice my nights. i'm not sure if i like this. i definitely need to hit up more rooftop parties. i've missed them, and they're like quintessential summertime ny.
